Julie Woods Moncrief, Executive Director
Julie Woods Moncrief , executive director of Leadership Fort Smith,
is a graduate of the Leadership Fort Smith Class of 2001. Moncrief grew up in Fort Smith, studied two years at Hendrix College and then received a Bachelor of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Before returning to her hometown in 1994, Moncrief served as Publications Director for Heifer International in Little Rock. In Fort Smith, she has served as freelance writer for many non-profit organizations, coordinated the local effort for Gen. Colin Powell’s national campaign of “America’s Promise – The Alliance for Youth,” served as executive director of the Fountain of Youth Adult Day Center and as publications/events coordinator for the Bost Foundation. Moncrief is vice president of the Fort Smith Zonta Club. She is a graduate of the Certified Volunteer Manager Program of the Arkansas Public Administration Consortium and has served on the boards of the Fort Smith Art Center, Woods Elementary and Chaffin Junior High PTAs, and First United Methodist Church UMW.
